Interior-Exterior (triptych)
Gordon liked the format of triptychs and created at least three big ones in oil, during his life. A triptych is a panel painting that’s divided into three sections. It’s quite often seen in early religious painting, where the wooden panels are hinged together and can be folded.
In 1983 he created the triptych Interior-Exterior. The three separate pictures have the same size 200×195 cm and should be seen as a whole.
