The Edith Södergran cycle
In 2006 Gordon began working on a cycle of 44 oilpainting all 100 cm’s in height inspired by the life and poems of the Swedish/Finnish poet, Edith Södergran (1892-1923).
As a young man in Liverpool, Gordon was given a book of her poems by a sailor and found a kindred spirit in Edith. No doubt he shared her intense love for nature, her spirituality and her love of Nietsche.
The cycle was exhibited posthumously at Kunstcentret Silkeborg Bad in 2018. All 44 paintings can be seen in the database.
